VOLUNTEER            Bioko Biodiversity Preservation Project, Equatorial Guinea            2009-2010

EXPERIENCE            Research Assistant.  Lived and worked on the remote southern beaches with leatherback, green and olive ridley sea turtles.  Nightly patrolled beaches for nesting ecology and population study. Microchipped leatherbacks and counted eggs. Read temperature, carbon dioxide and oxygen levels in nests.

                                    Animal Care Volunteer. Assisted veterinary and rehabilitation staff with daily procedures, administering medication, bandage application, and radiographs. Learned proper handling techniques for large and small raptors, mammals and reptiles. Helped create suitable habitats for each species and enhance their recovery with exercise and physical therapy

                                    Head Polo Coach. Initiated and supported the clubs formation at the University. Facilitated weekly practices and monthly games.  Acted as intermediary between players and other teams as well as officials and tournament directors.

                                    Education/Prevention Intern. Create educational brochure to be distributed to newly diagnosed clients.
