Madam, Sir,
I am a french final-year student who is about to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in International Tourism and Hotel Management from Versailles-Saint Quentin en Yvelines University.
I am writing to enquire about a possible internship opportunity with Hidden Trails, from May the 1st to the end of August, during which I have to put into practice the theoritical aspects of my current courses in order to write a report that I will present at my final exams.
My previous studies in Tourism Management have enabled me to organize circuits, to gain management, diplomatic and communicative skills.
During my last internship, three years ago, I was in charge of looking after the horses, organizing one week horse riding tours, welcoming tourists and preparing their meals, teaching beginners the basis of horse riding, and accompanying groups of riders for one week-trekking with the guide. All these responsibilities enabled me to work easily with a team, to be aware of the difficulties due to harsh climatic conditions, allowed me to become physically more resistant.
Moreover, my experiences of travelling abroad alone have strengthened my sense of determination, patience and rigor. In particular, my one-year stay in Japan where I worked as a horse groom and assisted children in a kindergarten. As a result, I improved my foreign languages skills, understand and adapt quickly to different cultures, which have also broaden my curiosity.
I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss a trainee position with you, which does not need to be remunerated. I believe my professional experiences plus my educational background will make me an ideal candidate suited for this job in tourism which involves horse riding. Furthermore, I think your structure would be a good opportunity to develop and use my skills to their greatest potential.
I would be grateful if you consider my application, and I would be available for any questions at your convenience.
Yours sincerely,
Odile BURKY
