I've mainly worked with icelandic horses, from about age 13, when I started helping out at my friend's mums stable every week, cleaning the barns and boxes, helping the horse riding school kids to prepare and saddle the horses, feeding te horses & letting them our in their paddocks, putting on eczema quilts, and assisting the riding instructor and heping the kids during the lessions. During the summers I worked there as an assistant camp leader, helping the kids, taking them on hose tours out in the forest, swimming with the horses & bringing picnic lunches. I also used to go with a friend of mine, who used top ride arab horses. to watch and learn when she had lessions and stuff. Additionally, I've competed in four walk & agility, thought that was mostly for fun between my horse sable & the neighbouring one, but it was a good experience. When I lived in New Zealand from september 2008- march 2009 & went on a road trip with a friend of mine (actually the iclenadic horse stable owner's daughter) from mid march last year to the end of may, we went on several horse trkking tours, mainly in New Zealand, countering on the beach, riding in the lordof the rings- tracks, & other bush walks, whch was amazing. So when I got home again in june last year, I went back to my friends icelandic horse stable, & worked as a horse tour guide, leading tours in the forest, bringing lunch or cooffee, and depending on the size or type of group we could be 2- 3 guides. The amount of tour takers could be around 17, or mixed levels and ages. And occasionally someone could get scared or not want to do countering, so someone had to ride behind or ahead with them. I also had to get and return the horses from different pasddocks, feed them, a little bit of grooming. I've been on lots of different horse tours, on arabs and half-bloods in Denmark, ice landics in the north of sweden, lots of different races in New Zealand, and even camels in Tunsia.
