Fantastic Volunteer Position Working with Horses in Canada!                                    A Volunteer position at a small ranch in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Canada. This is a live in opportunity. This is a great opportunity for resume enrichment. No cash compensation is available, (board and lodging are covered).

Season is April to September. Horse handling, western riding experience, fencing & chain saw skills, rough carpentry abilities necessary. Seeking personable, mature help. Flexibility and a good set of cowboy logic are assets. Please email, to state you preferred start & finish date!

Volunteer Opportunities:

* Handle horses, western riding

* Grooming, tacking/untacking , feeding and maintenance

* Assisting with guided trail rides

* Help with pre trip riding lessons & several trail rides per day

* Saddle and equipment maintenance, wipe & cleaning

* Round pen clean up,  very little, no other stalls to muck

* Plenty of riding time

Highlights

* Handle horses utilizing western horsemanship methods andtechniques.

* Gain valuable knowledge on gentle handling of the horses.

* Learn how horses interact in the pasture in a freeenvironment within the herd.

* Plenty of horseback riding in the beautiful countryside.

General volunteer opportunities available as well.

This includes help with farm & trail maintenance, gardening,watering, ride on lawn mowing and more.

Daily horse handling,  grooming, assist in tacking/untacking horses, organize and keep tack room tidy, mow yards, be able to do repair fence, etc.  Some carpentry skill would be a plus. You may live in my R.V. with paid utilities, free Wi Fi.  Horse experience is a MUST.  This job would be great for someone without other responsibilities, such as, family, pets, etc.  The provided living quarters are not family size.  We do not accept dogs at the ranch for safety proposes.  This job requires someone who is dedicated to their work and loves the outdoors.  Has a passion for horses and other animal.  Most weeks may consist of long days, many hours, late nights, and weekends. We need a person with lots of energy & doesn’t require naps during the day; in good health and can handle the heat. You will need to have good costumer service and communication skills,and be willing do what needs to be done. Not to interfere with owner/ client conversations and to always refer clients to management. However, will be asked to assist clients when needed. We offer trail rides, assistant to children & adults, mounting horses.  Safety is the utmost importance at our facility.  Trail riders consist of beginners, novice to advance.  Must past background check and will be responsible for your moving expenses.
